Cooking Classes Are Here!

Cooking With A Southern Soul
Creative classes for kids ages 11-16 teaching cooking techniques combined with life skills in a fun, friendly environment!  With a hands-on approach, students will prepare 4 different theme menus that teach recipe and food preparation, while learning to explore new flavors and ingredients.  Students will also have fun learning food nutrition, manners & table settings, plus a little math and food chemistry!  To finish off each class, everyone gets to enjoy the fruits of their labor by sharing a meal at "The Family Table."
March Schedule and Themes
March 8 - Meatball Mania!
*take home meal for family of 4 included
March 15 - Start Your Day Off Right!
March 22 - Think OUTSIDE the Lunch Box
March 29  - CRAZY for Cookie Dough
Classes are conveniently held after school from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church, main kitchen. These classes are offered in partnership with ENCOUNTER After School Program at CUMC.  Registration forms and fee information will be available on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd.  Space is available on a first come basis. See contact information below.

With kids in the kitchen, there will be fun, laughter and something interesting will happen, guaranteed.  I promise that each student will learn about cooking, creativity with food and how to share & work with others.  Along with this, my goal is that each student will learn something new, positive and empowering about themselves.  So....let's get Cooking With A Southern Soul!
